Kharge calls Nitish, Lalu to bring INDIA alliance to track after Bihar CM expressed concerns

Days after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar – the architects of India I.N.D.I.A alliance – expressed his disappointment over the slow progress of the newly formed coalition to fight BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge spoke to Nitish and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in a bid to pacify them.

According to news agency ANI, there has been a discussion between Kharge and Nitish regarding the future course of action of I.N.D.I.A Alliance. However, the details of what was discussed in this phone call have not been revealed yet, but it is speculated that after Kumar expressed his displeasure on Congress, the grand old party has requested to Lalu Yadav to convince him (Nitish).

Nitish publically expressed his displeasure

Nitish had raised questions on the attitude of Congress in I.N.D.I.A Alliance during his speech at CPI’s ‘BJP Hatao Desh Bachao’ rally held in Patna. He had said that Congress was worried about the assembly elections to be held in five states, while we all are working together to take Congress forward, but they are busy in the upcoming state elections.

I.N.D.I.A (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) was formed by 28 political parties on July 18, 2023. Congress is the biggest party in the alliance and it was given an anchor role in the alliance but in the last few months the grand old party was seen more busy fighting the assembly election to be held this month in the five states.
