ISRO will launch Gaganyaan test flight

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is all set to launch a test flight on October 21 under the Gaganyaan mission. As per the reports, the Inflight abort test of the crew escape system will be conducted with Test Vehicle Abort Mission-1 (TV-D1).

ISRO wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter that It will be a short-duration mission and the visibility from the Launch View Gallery (LVG) will be limited. Students and public can view the launch from LVG at SDSC-SHAR, Sriharikota by registering at https://lvg.shar.gov.in/VSCREGISTRATION/index.jsp. Registrations has been started on October 17, 2023. 

“The test is scheduled for October 21, 2023, at 0800 Hrs. IST from the First launchpad at SDSC-SHAR, Sriharikota. It will be a short-duration mission and the visibility from the Launch View Gallery (LVG) will be limited. Students and the Public can witness the launch from LVG at SDSC-SHAR, Sriharikota, by registering at https://lvg.shar.gov.in/VSCREGISTRATION/index.jsp… Registration will commence on October 17, 2023, at 18:00 Hrs. Latest updates will also be provided in that link,” reads the official tweet.

Earlier on October 14, ISRO chief Somnath had said, “After the first test flight, we have planned three more test missions, D2, D3, D4. The aim is to ensure the safety of the astronauts during the Gaganyaan mission. During the test The module will be taken into space. Along with this, it will be brought back to Earth and landed in the Bay of Bengal. Under the Gaganyaan mission, a crew of three astronauts will be taken to a 400 km orbit.
