Smita Patil 37th Death Anniversary: Smita Patil was an iconic actress and style icon. She was born on 17th October 1955 in Mumbai. Unfortunately, she couldn’t live that much, Smita Patil had her last breath at the age of only 31 years, Her death was reported because of childbirth complications, and today this is her 37th death anniversary.

On this day many Bollywood actors and actresses pay tribute to Smita Patil including her husband Raj Babbar and her son Prateik Babbar who took to her social media pages to pay the tribute.

Smita Patil was married to actor Raj Babbar. Later she died on 13th December 1986 at the age of 31 years, from complications during childbirth after she delivered their son, Prateik Babbar. After her death, ten-plus of her films were released. Her son Prateik Babbar is also a film actor who made his film debut in the year 2008.

Smita Patil started her career as a television news presenter. And then she made her debut in 1971 with Mere Saath Chal movie and has done numerous of films. Smita Patil’s Bollywood journey was just for ten years but has done around 80 films in Hindi and Marathi.

She also won a National Award two times. On the work front, the late actress has featured in numerous films like Manthan, Arth, Bazaar, Bhumika, Gaman, Aakrosh, Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai, Ardh Satya and Mandi and many more films. Although she has such a short career, the actress had left so much of an impression with her simple and natural acting that even today those are the acting lessons for any newcomer actors or actresses.

Apart from her acting, Smita Patil was also an active feminist and a member of the Women’s Center in Mumbai. She was extremely engaged in to the development of women’s issues and gave her backing in films that sought to find the role of women in traditional Indian society, their sexuality, and the switches in facing the middle-class woman in an urban milieu.
