Theatre League Offers Free Readings All Summer And Free Tickets To Fully-Staged Plays

comtrag2lgBy Bill Hirschman, FloridaTheaterOnStage.com, Special to EyesOnNews.com, May 27, 2015 – Ticket prices are not an obstacle to interested theatergoers once again this summer through the South Florida Theatre League’s annual Summer Theatre Fest that provides free tickets to major productions and new plays in development by South Florida playwrights.

There are two programs: Step Onto Our Stage provides free tickets to readings of plays in development every Monday from June 1 to August 31.

The second Free Night of Theater stages a lottery for tickets to major fully-staged productions.

In Step Onto Our Stage, a League member theater will host a free reading of a new play by a local playwright in venues spread across the region. Playwrights range from established local favorites, including Carbonell Award-winners like Christopher Demos-Brown and nominees, to emerging talents, with plays vastly ranging in subject matter and style.

A list of the plays and a synopsis of each reading is listed at the bottom of this story as well as at http://southfloridatheatre.org/summer-theatre-fest-returns-all-programing-detailed-here/
