By Jose Lambiet, GossipExtra.com, Special to EyesOnNews.com, Feb 12, 2015 – HONOLULU — When Jupiter party-guy golfer Robert Allenby said he was abducted, robbed, beaten and stuffed into a car trunk in Honolulu last month, we suspended our disbelief.

And when witnesses challenged the Admiral’s Cove PGA Tour star’s story, we just wished him a speedy recovery.

But now, we stand corrected, sorta.

Honolulu police actually arrested a suspect in the case.

He was identified as Owen Patrick Harbison, 32, and charged with multiple counts of second degree identity theft, attempted theft and unauthorized possession of confidential information.

Police say Harbison used the Australian golfer’s credit card to make unauthorized purchases.

But police are no longer investigating a kidnapping and assault on the golfer!

Allenby was in Hawaii for the Sony Open last month when he was allegedly attacked, beaten, robbed, put into the trunk of a car and dumped five miles away.

Cops told media yesterday that the violent part of Allenby’s adventure didn’t happen.

Said Honolulu Police Lt. John McCarthy: “There is no kidnapping investigation going on.”

In an interview with NBC Sports, Allenby likened his experience to what happens in the movies, like Taken.

Maybe it was like the movies, but more like The Hangover.
