Sticky With a Few Showers

image4 image5By Donna Thomas, Meteorologist, June 15, 2015 – South Florida will be hot and sticky with a few passing showers on Monday. Monday’s highs will be in the upper 80s, and a moderate risk of rip currents will continue as ocean breezes bring in those showers and some clouds. A few afternoon storms are in the forecast on Tuesday, along with highs near 90 degrees. For Wednesday through Friday, look for a few early morning showers, muggy conditions, sun and clouds, and highs in the low 90s.

In the tropics, the area of disturbed weather in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico will bring stormy conditions to parts of the Texas and Louisiana coast early this week. The National Hurricane Center gives this feature a high chance of becoming a depression or tropical storm over the next two days. The main threat is very heavy rain to areas that are already saturated from record rainfall.
