Fort Lauderdale (March 24, 2013) – Broward Crime Stoppers presented $10,000 to the Broward Sheriff’s Office and $5,000 to the Miramar Police Department on March 21 in support of the upcoming gun buyback events. The BSO’s first gun buyback will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 6, at the E. Fort Lauderdale (March 22,2013) – When Hurricane Sandy went barreling past Broward County last October, there was a lot of damage created by the high winds and surf. A transformation is occurring at the Covenant House Florida. The serenity room is being constructed through the vision and resources of the The Leadership Broward Team 31. Team 31 consists of Stiles Construction, ARC Broward, Ernst & Young, Sun-Sentinel, and Group Victory. This team along with the Covenant House are looking to build the room so troubled teens have a place to feel safe and to learn valuable coping skills to help with the stresses of everyday life.
