By Donna Thomas, EyesOnNews.com Meteorologist, June 13, 2015 – South Florida will see a few passing showers on Saturday, but the real story is the uncomfortably high humidity. Look for temperatures to top out in the upper 80s, but sticky conditions will make it feel hotter, even with a strong ocean breeze. That breeze will also keep the risk of dangerous rip currents high throughout the weekend. Sunday will be humid as well, with highs in the upper 80s and a few showers on the breeze. We’ll see a shift to scattered afternoon storms during the workweek, and highs will be near the 90 degree mark from Monday through midweek.
We’re watching a disorganized area of showers and storms over the northwestern Caribbean and Yucatan. The National Hurricane Center gives this feature a low chance of developing into a tropical depression over the next 5 days as it moves northwestward into the Gulf of Mexico.
