Broward County (April 30, 2013) – A six-student team from Cypress Bay High School in Weston won the $5,000 Grand Prize in the 2013 NASA Ames Space Settlement Design Contest. The Cypress Bay team created a space settlement plan, “Maui,” which was selected for the top award from 592 submissions entered by 1,536 students in 20 countries. Johnson and Wales held their Distinguished Visiting Chef Series this past Friday at the North Miami Campus. This year’s distinguished chef was alumna Juliana Gonzalez of Barceloneta Mercat, Nobu. Attendees were treated to 4 course meal with wine pairings and proceeds from the event went to JWU culinary scholarship fund.
Henderson Behavioral Health celebrated its 60th anniversary “Diamond Jubilee” April 27 at the Signature Grand in Davie. Guests enjoyed a lavish cocktail reception, silent and live auction, dinner and danced to the sounds of Dee Dee Wilde. The event honored Carol Harrison, Broward College, Broward College President J. David Armstrong and Henderson Behavioral Health’s past board presidents. It was a night to remember and all for a great cause. Congratulations on 60 years of excellence!
